This is Johnny Almaguer's 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII. "Johnny Rocket", as he's known in these parts, uses this car to show off it's performance at the auto-cross (or the occasional street race) as well as it's audio/video system around town or at car shows across the country.

It all starts with the Kenwood KVT-915DVD head unit that passes signal to a Kenwood KGC-9044 11 band equalizer which has been custom molded into the factory radio location. This molded location has been painted to match the car in addition to other components that have been molded into the dash. With the signal now split through the eq, the front and rear RCA's feed the inputs of a JL Audio 450/4 that powers an XR653-CS 3 way component set and an XR650-CSi component set. The 6 1/2" midbass of the 3 way comp. set lives in a custom contsructed and upholstered front door panel with blue neon lit plexi accents that have been custom etched. The 4 1/2" and tweeter from the 3 way set are located in custom made kick panels that have similar blue neon lit plexi accents. For rear fill, the 6 1/2" comp. set reside in the C-pillars that have also been treated to blue neon lit plexi. The rest of the signal goes to a 1000/1 and powers 2 13w6v2's that are in a 3 1/4 cu.ft. sealed enclosure.

The trunk area of this car is where most of the "eye candy" is located. A full fiberglass "tub" that has been painted to match spans the entire trunk. It has windows to show off the beautiful subwoofers and the smoothed and painted enclosure interior that has been constructed around the rear strut bar. The amplifiers also can be seen in here framed by the "tub" in addition to a Stinger 20 farad capacitor.

Finally, the trunk lid houses a set of XR 5 1/4" components with plexi trim, a 10.2" custom molded screen, and a PS2 that lives on the underside of the lid. Also of note, this car has numerous performance ugrades and has been dyno'd with 404 hp. at the wheels with plans for more.
