Retained a very stock appearance and all of the trunk space while radically improving the overall sound quality and the bass content of the vehicle. After putting 'TW5s in the door of our Mercedes GLK build, this vehicle gave us the opportunity to do so again, this time in a vehicle owned by an individual who drives it several times a week! (the GLK is owned by Mercedes Benz). And we got to show them off this time, too.
The 4" & tw in the front doors were upgraded to a 3way kit; the stock "sub" under each front seat was powered as a midbass to augment the upgraded 4" & tw in the back doors and rear deck (the stock system is essentially the Logic7 system out of a 7series BMW).
The amps were stowed in the trunk's storage bin and trimmed to look stock. We avoided the trunk for subs as the gas tank sits between the trunk and the back seat as well as the trunk is not as large as one would think for a car of this size (it's longer than a Suburban!). The 13TW5, coupled with the HUGE stock pocket assembly in the front doors, provided an excellent alternative both cosmetically and sonically.
