RD: Sleek, powerful and packed with value.

RD amplifiers employ JL Audio’s exclusive NexD™ switching technologies to generate loads of power with exceptional efficiency, reducing current draw and heat. Each model features a modern, industrial design with a high performance look and finish. For ease of installation and making adjustments, all connections are placed along one side of the amplifier with the controls on top, concealed beneath a removable protective cover.

All RD models are equipped with studio-grade signal processing and automatic turn-on capabilities (via signal sensing and DC-offset sensing), for maximum flexibility. Differential-balanced inputs are also on-hand to combat noise and maximize compatibility with a wide range of signal types. Two additional features have been included to simplify installation and set-up: LED clipping indicators to streamline the input level setting process, and “Input Type” switches on the stereo channel sections, eliminating the need for Y-adaptors when bridging.

LED Clipping Indicators

Quickly and accurately set the amplifier’s input sensitivity, without any special equipment, in three easy steps.

Step 1

Play a sine-wave test tone through the audio system.

Step 2

Set the source unit at 3/4 of full volume.

Step 3

Increase the “Input Sensitivity” control until the LED is solidly lit, indicating maximum, unclipped output.

EASY

That’s it! The input sensitivities are now accurately set.

Technology

Instead of relying on antiquated, inefficient amplifier designs, JL Audio RD amplifiers employ our exclusive NexD™ switching technology to achieve total amplifier efficiencies exceeding 80%. This means they run much cooler and put less strain on your electrical system than a conventional amplifier. It also allows for very impressive power output from a very compact amplifier, which greatly simplifies installation in tight spaces.
